The Western Cape police remain persistent in the fight against the illegal distribution of drugs in our communities as they arrested a 38-year-old man for possession of drugs
On Wednesday, 30 July 2025 at about 13:30, members attached to Ravensmead SAPS performed visibly patrols in Northway and Melrose Street when they spotted a suspicious man who immediately changed direction upon noticing the police vehicle. The suspect suddenly got into an Uber vehicle in an attempt to flee. The members quickly responded, stopped, and searched the vehicle upon which they found 500 mandrax tablets and 300 sachets of tik in the bag of the suspect. The 38-year-old man was subsequently arrested for the possession of drugs.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on Friday, 01 August 2025.
