Members of the public are urged to remain calm and allow Police investigators a space to investigate with a hope to find the missing 03-year-old child, Nkosingiphile Ntiwane from Mshadza Trust in Masoyi who disappeared on Sunday, 20 July 2025.
The call comes after some members of the community went on rampage and protested on the R38 Road from last night until to the early hours of today, 24 July 2025. During the violent protest, the participants demanded for the arrest of the child’s mother and pelted stones at the Masoyi Police Station whereby a Police Van was damaged.
There were also threats of torching of the house belonging to the missing child’s family. Due to the volatile situation, Police had to remove the family members to a safer place in an attempt to prevent loss of life. Public Order Policing (POP) members had to be brought in to defuse the situation.
This exercise is not helping the situation but derails everybody from the main issue of locating the missing child. The Police have since heightened visibility in and around the area as a result of the tense situation in the area.
Available resources have since been used by the Police in an effort to locate the missing child. The Police’s Search and Rescue, as well as the K9 (Dog) Unit have been on board from the day the missing child was reported missing, led by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit. Thus far, the child has not been found however the team members relentlessly continue to search for the child.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has pleaded with members of the public to work in collaboration with the experts in the investigation field, assigned to probe the disappearance of the little boy. “If anyone has information that will assist, let those details be shared with the Police because our goal is to find the child. We must not loose focus as every minute counts, so let us unite in this endeavour rather than pointing fingers at each other, ” said the General.
