A 64 year old woman sustained injuries after being run over by a bus on Saunders Circle in Belverdere, Tongaat – KZN a short while ago (Saturday).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a distress call at approximately 12:06. Upon arrival at the scene, Reaction Officers found the woman with a fractured right ankle.
It was alleged that the elderly woman had just stepped off the bus and was standing by the roadside when she slipped as the vehicle began to move. The rear tyre travelled over her right leg.
Paramedics from a private ambulance service stabilised the injured woman before she was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.
