Medical Emergency

Date: 2 August 2025
Pretoria Volunteer Emergency Services (PVES) responded to a critical medical emergency involving a patient who had overdosed on a lethal substance. On arrival, the individual was found to be severely hypothermic and hypotensive.
PVES members acted swiftly to stabilise the patient, administering supportive care and continuous monitoring while awaiting further medical assistance. The patient was also warmed to normal temperature with the #easywarm blanket.
An ambulance arrived at 21:00 and transported the patient to the nearest hospital for urgent treatment. Thanks to Gauteng Emergency Medical Services for their service.
Proshield and Brinant Security were also on scene and provided essential support in managing the environment and ensuring safety.
