The ongoing Operation Basadi in the Pixley Ka Seme District, targeting the proliferation of drugs, has yielded significant results.
In Vosburg, police acted on information regarding suspected drug dealing at a specific residence. After obtaining a search warrant, officers searched the premises and seized tik and dagga with an estimated street value of R370 000. A 32-year-old male was arrested for possession of drugs.
In a separate incident in Hopetown, routine police raids led to the arrest of a 33-year-old male found in possession of drugs valued at more than R2 300.
Both suspects face charges of illegal possession of drugs and will appear in their respective Magistrates’ Courts in due course.
District Commissioner, Major General Nomana Mtukushe, commended the members for their vigilance and proactive efforts in removing drugs from local communities.
