Two women, aged 54 and 74, were left in a critical condition following a suspected home invasion in Hawkstone, Phoenix, earlier today, 25 August 2025.
It is alleged that the victims were approached by a woman known to them as “Cookie”. The suspect had befriended the women over the past few days and convinced them that she could provide homemade health remedies.
This morning, at 10h30 AM, the suspect visited the victims residence under the pretext of preparing the remedies. During her stay, she was questioned by the victims’ 87-year-old uncle, after which she hastily left the property. Shortly thereafter, both victims began experiencing symptoms of weakness and dizziness. They were later discovered in a weakened and unresponsive condition.
KZNVIP Medics responded to the scene and treated both patients, who were stabilised before being transported to a medical facility for urgent medical care.
The substance used to drug the victims remains unknown at this stage. SAPS have been informed and investigations are underway.
