Law enforcement targeting counterfeit, contraband, and illicit goods in Johannesburg District

The Gauteng Counterfeit Unit, in collaboration with Border Police: City Deep, Brand Protectors, and Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens, conducted a successful operation on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, targeting counterfeit, contraband, and illicit goods in Johannesburg District.

Three shops were visited, and the operation covered areas including Booysens, Randburg, and Florida.

Counterfeit items seized included clothing, shoes, cellphone accessories, handbags, and belts, with an estimated total value of R 67 247,100-00.

The Gauteng Counterfeit Unit remains committed to protecting consumers and businesses from the risks associated with counterfeit goods.
