The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Gauteng, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni together with Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole and Sedibeng Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Mbhangwa Nkhwashu led a multidisciplinary and integrated #OperationShanela II in Eden Park and Kliprivier.
During the operation, the team recovered an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and two vehicles that are suspected to be stolen. Police and the Department of Home Affairs arrested 80 undocumented persons. Six suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs and four illegal liquor outlets that are believed to be a contributing factor to contact crimes like assault and rape were closed down.
