Operation Basadi conducted along the R63 at the Masingatha/Tolofiyeni junction, King William’s Town

The SAPS Eastern Cape Provincial Visible Policing together with Women’s Network and Traffics (Vispol) conducted Operation Basadi on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, along the R63 at the Masingatha/Tolofiyeni junction, King William’s Town.

During the roadblock motorists were fined for expired licence discs, unroadworthy vehicles, no driver’s licence and unpaid fines. As part of crime prevention duties, the team also maintained high visibility in the CBD to ensure safety for all citizens.

The SAPS reaffirm its commitment to ensuring road safety and enforcing the law, and urges all motorists to comply with traffic regulations to keep our roads safe.
