The swift response by an off duty police officer stationed at Caledon SAPS led to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of three firearms in Botrivier, on Friday afternoon, 15 August 2025.
The member was sitting at the local barbershop when he noticed three males entering a supermarket with the intent to commit a robbery. He observed the males while calling for back up from Caledon SAPS. The suspects got into a vehicle and before they could leave they were apprehended. Three firearms with ammunition were seized.
The adult male suspects were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and will appear in the Caledon Magistrates’ court on Monday 17 August 2025, on the mentioned charges.
