On Friday 22 August 2025, the members of Provincial Organised Crime Unit in collaboration with a Private Security personnel have effected significant apprehension of two foreign male suspects at separate locations in Bela-Bela precinct under Waterberg District.
At about 11:00, police received information about a male suspect who was busy selling illicit drugs in Bela-Bela town along Bham Street. Police reacted swiftly and operationalised on the information that led them to the identified location.
Upon arrival, they found a 46-year-old male suspect standing at Bham street and requested permission to search him. It was granted and while searching, police found a transparent plastic bag inside the pocket of his trouser.
The plastic bag was containing small sachets of illicit drugs of Crystal-Meth with an estimated street value of seven thousand rands (R7000-00). A 46-year-old foreign male suspect failed to account for the origin of the illicit drugs and was placed under an arrest at the scene.
Furthermore, ten thousand rands (R10 000) worth of illicit drugs comprising of Crystal-Meth and Heroine drugs were seized by the police during a significant arrest of a 55-year-old foreign male suspect at Bela-Bela location at about 11:30.
Police were tip-off about the male suspect who was selling illicit drugs while driving a silver grey Haval motor vehicle in the area.
A search operation was activated until he was positively spotted driving along Chris Hani Drive and immediately stopped.
A 55-year-old was searched and police suddenly discovered a plastic bag consisting of illicit drugs concealed under the driver’s seat and he was also nabbed on the spot.
The duo are expected to appear before Bela-Bela Magistrate court on Monday 25 August 2025 facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
Police investigations are continuing.
