Police in Limpopo have arrested seven suspects, including a 22-year-old female, during a planned intelligence-driven operation that targeted a group responsible for a spate of violent robberies in the Tshilwavhusiku policing area. The suspects, aged between 19 and 32, were traced and arrested on Thursday, 22 August 2025.
The operation, conducted by Tshilwavhusiku and Makhado detectives supported by Tshilwavhusiku Vispol members, focused on suspects who were allegedly using a white Nissan NP200 bakkie during the commission of business robberies, house robberies, and armed robberies. The vehicle was recovered at the Makhado Municipality Testing Grounds.
Follow-up investigations led to Muraleni village, where three suspects were arrested, and to Tshikwarani village, where four more suspects were apprehended. A pellet gun used during the robberies and several suspected stolen cellphones were also seized.
Preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to at least six robbery cases committed since the beginning of August in Tshilwavhusiku, including an incident in which stockvel members were robbed of a large sum of money.
The suspects will appear in the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 25 August 2024 to face multiple charges related to robbery with a firearm, house robbery, and business robbery.
Investigations are ongoing, and further arrests cannot be ruled out.
