As we celebrate the brilliance and commitment of our learners in promoting road safety, we are reminded that the fight against road fatalities is not just a matter of public health, but also a crucial aspect of economic stability. Road fatalities cost our economy billions of rand per annum.
We are proud to announce the results of the Limpopo Provincial Debate and Participatory Educational Techniques Competition 2025, which took place on August 23, 2025 at The Ranch Resort.
The top teams that will represent the province in the national competitions are:
– Debate Rural Team: Theka Motlatso (Capricorn District), Mboneni Livhuwani (Vhembe District), and Khan Hunaynah (Vhembe District)
– Debate Urban Team: Seroka Nareadi (Sekhukhune District), Selamale Kamogelo (Capricorn District), and Ramohlale Nyeleti (Capricorn District)
– Participatory Educational Techniques (PET): Ditlalemeso Sec. School (Capricorn District), Risinga Sec. School (Mopani District), and Maope Sec. School
I am particularly delighted to see that some of the winners hail from rural communities, demonstrating that distance and circumstance are no barriers to excellence. I applaud these learners for their outstanding work and commitment to making our roads safer.
The national competitions will take place from October 6 to 10, 2025, in Gauteng. We wish our teams the best of luck and look forward to their participation in promoting road safety awareness.
By working together to shape a safer future for our roads and communities, we can reduce the financial burden of road crashes and create a more prosperous future for all South Africans. Let us continue to prioritize road safety and promote a culture of responsible driving and citizenship. Together, we can make a difference and save lives.
