Members of the Essential Infrastructure Task Team (EITT), acting on intelligence and apprehended two suspects linked to a recent vehicle hijacking. The operation resulted in the recovery of the hijacked vehicle, two illegal firearms, a large quantity of suspected narcotics, and the positive identification of the suspects by the victim.
Acting on prior information regarding the whereabouts of a sought-after suspect, members proceeded to Fleurhof to conduct observations. Upon noticing the officers, the primary suspect attempted to flee on foot, but was swiftly apprehended following a chase.
Verification confirmed the vehicle, a VW Polo had been reported hijacked in Dobsonville. A search of the vehicle uncovered: Two (2) illegal firearms, bags containing a substance suspected to be Crystal Meth, Mandrax tablets And Numerous keys suspected to belong to other vehicles
The first suspect was immediately arrested. Further investigation and cooperation led officers to the Jerusalem informal settlement, where a second accomplice was located. The victim of the hijacking was contacted and positively identified both suspects as the perpetrators.
The second suspect was arrested at the scene with Mandrax tablets in his possession.
