The Gauteng Traffic Police High-Speed Unit arrested 25 Suspects for excessive speeding

The Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP) High Speed Unit arrested twenty-five (25) suspects for excessive speeding from Friday, 05 September 2025 to Sunday, during a heightened high speed unit operation in the province.

Of the 25 suspects arrested, four (4) were arrested for driving above 200km/h, thirteen (13) suspects for driving between 161 and 190km/h and six (6) suspects were arrested for driving between 190 and 200km/h.

Additionally, two (2) suspects were arrested for driving above 141km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Motorists are urged to adhere to the speed limits and exercise caution on the road. Always be mindful of other road users to prevent unnecessary accidents and fatalities.
