Motorists are urged to slow down and approach with caution when emergency vehicles are parked along the roadway attending to an incident.
During this morning’s crash on the R102, several vehicles nearly collided into the accident scene while paramedics and first responders were working to stabilise patients and manage the scene.
This serves as an urgent reminder, reduce your speed, be alert and give emergency services the space they need.
Sadly, in a recent unrelated incident, an ambulance was struck while attending to a crash on the same route, putting both lives and emergency crews at further risk.
