KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded to a serious multi-vehicle collision this morning at approximately 7:40 AM near N3, Hammersdale.
Preliminary reports indicate that a truck allegedly lost its brakes, resulting in a collision involving 14 vehicles in total.
One patient sustained critical injuries and was entrapped in a crumpled vehicle. Red-line Rescue together with Ethekweni Fire and Rescue extricated the patient. The patient is currently being airlifted to a specialist trauma unit for advanced medical care.
Currently patients are still being attended to on scene and being transported to hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway by the relevant authorities.
There has been a serious accident on the N3 eastbound near Cliffdale
