Police detain suspects for unlicensed firearm and presumed stolen property

On Wednesday, 24 September 2025, members of the Anti-Gang Unit responded to information they received of a firearm that is at an address in The Hague Avenue, Delft. The members searched the identified address and found a firearm with ammunition in the house. A 38-year-old male was arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 26 September 2025.

In an unrelated matter, members of the Maitland Flying Squad arrested five suspects, aged between 24 and 40, after receiving information of a vehicle that is offloading goods at an address in Elsies River on Wednesday night. The members found the vehicle at a premises on the corner of Boston and Oasis Streets, Riverton and confiscated 268 boxes of cooking oil. They face charges for the possession of presumed stolen property.

The suspects will appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court once charged.
