Ekurhuleni District Commissioner and SAPS Ekurhuleni management are appealing to community members to be extra cautious when intending to perform religious and traditional rituals in the rivers and streams.
This follows after a lifeless body of a 58-year-old man was retrieved from Lake View Dam in Wattville on Monday, 18 August 2025. According to his family members, he went to the dam to pray as he normally does, but never returned.
The Police noticed his car next to the dam, which was parked for a long time without anyone inside. It is suspected that the deceased might have drowned. Actonville Police are investigating an Inquest docket.
