Proactive Crime Prevention Operation in Waterloo and Cornubia Flats

A proactive crime prevention operation was carried out by Verulam SAPS, in partnership with Metro Police, KZN VIP Security, the Verulam CPF, Waterloo CPF, and other security agencies, on Wednesday night, 10 September 2025.

The initiative focused on stop and search procedures, targeting suspicious individuals in the Waterloo and Cornubia Flats areas. During the operation, several knives and dangerous weapons were recovered, helping to reduce potential threats within the community.

This operation follows an increase in robberies of persons in the area. Verulam SAPS, together with its partners in enforcement, continue to work hand in hand in the fight against crime, ensuring greater safety and visibility for residents.

Although no arrests were made, the operation highlighted the importance of ongoing proactive interventions to curb crime.
