While on patrol in Reiger Park, members of the Gauteng Traffic Police together with the Gauteng Traffic Wardens STT (EC) noticed a truck with two trailers, escorted by a Mercedes-Benz, entering a dark veld with its lights off during the early hours of the morning.
The officers followed the vehicles and attempted to stop them. The suspects in the Mercedes-Benz abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into the veld, while the truck driver was successfully apprehended.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that the trailers had been hijacked in Mpumalanga.
