A foreign national arrested for bribery and failing to comply with lawful instruction, in Kempton Park

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers, arrested a fifty-five (55) year old foreign national, for bribery and failing to comply with lawful instruction, in Kempton park.

While conducting law enforcement duties, Officers attempted to stop a blue V.W Scirocco. The suspect ignored the instruction to stop and sped off. A brief chase was ensued and the suspect was apprehended at corner West and Park Street. As the Officers approached the vehicle, the suspect offered Officers a two hundred Rand (R200) bribe as an apology for disregarding their instruction.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Kempton Park Police Station, facing charges of bribery and failing to comply with lawful instruction.

He is expected to appear before the Kempton park Magistrate’s Court soon.
