Centurion,14 October 2025. Bakwena N1N4 Toll Concession marked its 16th annual Charity Golf Day with resounding success, raising R197 400 to support three charities serving communities along the N1N4 route. The event, held at the Centurion Country Club on Wednesday, 8 October, drew a full field of 124 players (31 four-balls) who united for a worthy cause.
The funds will directly benefit:
• Wheel Well: An NPO focusing on children in road safety
• Thusanang Day Care Centre: Providing crucial early childhood development
• HAWS (Hartbeespoort Animal Welfare Society): Caring for animals in need.
This year’s amount brings Bakwena’s total raised for local charities through all the golf days to over R2.7 million.
“Our annual charity golf day is a cornerstone of our community engagement, enabling us to provide much-needed support to non-profit organisations that make a tangible difference along the N1N4 route,” said Solomon Kganyago, Chief Operating Officer for Bakwena. “This success is a testament to the relationships we’ve built with government and industry stakeholders, whose support makes these initiatives possible.”
Participants enjoyed a perfect day on the course, culminating in a festive prize-giving ceremony. 12 top performing teams were recognized, alongside special awards for “Nearest to the Pin” and “Longest Day”, supported by a hamper donated by Webber Wentzel. Proceeds from the auctioned hamper were added to the total amount raised for the charities.
“We are truly grateful to all our partners and stakeholders whose enthusiasm and contributions made the 16th annual Golf Day an overwhelming success,” said Kganyago.
