Multidisciplinary Operation Shanela II conducted in Eldorado Park

Gauteng Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Crime Detection, also acting as Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing, Major General Mbuso Khumalo led a multidisciplinary Operation Shanela II in Eldorado Park where more than 65 suspects were arrested for crimes that include possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of hijacked vehicle, possession of drugs, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery, malicious damage to property, theft, possession of suspected stolen property and illegal immigrants.

At the roadblock, police impounded four vehicles that were found with engines that are tempered with and suspected to be stolen.

Furthermore, Major General Khumalo led a stop and search at the areas that are regarded as hotspots for drugs peddling.

The arrested suspects are expected to appear before local Magistrate’s Court in due course.
