The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Gauteng, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni is leading the multidisciplinary Operation Shanela II law enforcement team and stakeholders at a roadblock in the West Rand district.
The number of people arrested so far include 28 undocumented persons, 23 for driving under the influence of alcohol, three for possession of drugs while three unlicensed liquor outlets were closed.
The detectives across the province have arrested 718 suspects for various offences including 446 for gender-based violence during their weekend suspects raiding operations.
