- The all-new C4 (formerly C3) debuted in an immersive, Cyber Mecha-themed event in China, showcasing its bold design and advanced tech.
- The C4 will arrive in South Africa in Q1 2026, joining Brand O&J’s growing SUV lineup, offering consumers style, safety, and quality at an attainable price.
The global debut of the OMODA C4 (formerly the C3) was recently held in China, bringing together international media, influencers, and fans to experience the bold innovation behind OMODA’s latest model and to explore what the future of mobility could look like.
Just six months ago, the OMODA C3 made its world premiere, capturing the imagination of young drivers with its distinctive Cyber Mecha design. The excitement and feedback from that launch made one thing clear: this model deserved even greater expectations. Based on global feedback and co-creation sessions with early adopters, the brand has now evolved the C3 into the C4: a model that embodies its stronger personality, enhanced performance, and deeper connection with its community.
This was not merely a product showcase-it was a dialogue between OMODA and its global user base, marking the brand’s evolution from “building cars for users” to “co-creating with users.” The event underlined OMODA & JAECOO’s commitment to shaping the future of mobility hand in hand with their global community.
Cyber Mecha design: Where virtual meets reality
The OMODA C4 continues OMODA’s signature Cyber Mecha design philosophy-a bold fusion of futuristic aesthetics and mechanical precision. Inspired by the O-Universe concept, its “O-Universe” signature lighting serves as a bridge between the virtual and physical worlds, symbolising OMODA’s tech-forward identity.
“Cross-border design isn’t just about combining styles,” says Hans Greyling, General Manager of OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “It challenges us to rethink established norms entirely, encouraging innovation by questioning the foundation of design itself.”
From its sharp headlights and muscular side profile to its intricately detailed rear fascia, every line of the C4 reflects the spirit of a next-generation crossover SUV. Behind the scenes, OMODA’s design and engineering teams collaborated through hundreds of refinements to balance futuristic style with everyday usability.
“People are drawn to a sci-fi aesthetic, but style alone isn’t enough. It has to be backed by substance,” adds Greyling. “The OMODA C4 is built for lifestyle adventurers: bold thinkers who question convention. True innovation demands courage, and that courage comes from deeply understanding the people we design for.”
The OMODA C4 will be available with both internal combustion engines (ICE) and efficient hybrid (HEV) powertrains, giving drivers more choice in how they experience performance and efficiency. This dual offering reflects OMODA’s strategy to make next-generation mobility accessible to a wider audience, allowing drivers to transition toward electrification at their own pace without compromising on power or driving pleasure.
Coming to South Africa
Set to arrive locally in H2 2026, the OMODA C4 will join Brand O&J’s rapidly growing lineup of SUVs designed for South Africans who refuse to compromise on safety, style, premium features, or quality. With its bold design, advanced technology, and strong value proposition, the C4 will be offering consumers an even more enticing entry point into the OMODA brand.
“South Africa is an incredibly important market for OMODA and JAECOO,” said Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “With the introduction of the OMODA C4 in the latter part of 2026, we’re expanding our range to meet the growing demand for vehicles that combine expressive design, cutting-edge technology, and outstanding value, all without compromise.”
