OR TAMBO – OR Tambo police arrested two male suspects aged 27 and 28 in Sulenkama – Maladini locality and Port St John’s – Nonyevu Township on Tuesday, 21 October 2025 at different times for possession of suspected stolen stock and unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm respectively.
In the first incident on Tuesday, 21 October 2025 around 15:00, police acted on information about the man with possible stolen sheep in his homestead at Maladini locality in Sulenkama (Qumbu). At the scene, police found a 28-year-old-man busy shearing sheep. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the thirteen (13) sheep were stolen at Tsilithwa locality in Qumbu on Friday, 10 October 2025.
In another unrelated incident, Port St John’s police conducted an intelligence-driven operation from Tuesday, 21 October 2025 till Wednesday, 22 October 2025. It is further said that at about 04:00, they arrested a 27-year-old man of Nonyevu Township for possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with intact serial number. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the firearm was stolen in Brakpan, Johannesburg. The duo has been arrested and is to appear before Magistrate Courts of their jurisdiction, facing their respective charges very soon.
