MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management Wessels Morweng have applauded law enforcement officers for the arrest of three male suspects this morning on the N14 road near Coligny.
The suspects who were driving a silver quantum with Gauteng registration number plates were stopped by traffic and police officers who found 26 goats that they could not account for and subsequently arrested.
”We are tired of livestock theft and our communities are suffering as a results of criminality and as government we will not fold our arms while criminals run amock, we will make their life’s difficult in this province rest assured,” concluded MEC Morweng.
The livestock theft is among key issues identified to strengthen the fight against crime in the Province.
