Notorious crime hotspots in the Verulam area came under the spotlight as local law enforcement and private security joined forces in a powerful show of unity to combat crime in the area, on Friday afternoon, 10 October 2025.
In a continued coordinated operation led by Verulam SAPS, together with KZNVIP, Metro Police, CPF members and other security stakeholders, teams moved through the Verulam CBD and surrounding residential zones, zeroing in on known crime hotspots and problem areas.
The joint effort led to several arrests, with individuals apprehended for drug possession, carrying dangerous weapons, non-compliance and possession of suspected stolen goods.
This high impact operation forms part of an ongoing initiative aimed at increasing visibility, strengthening partnerships and ensuring community safety across Verulam and surrounding areas.
