Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officers will be deployed to ensure the free flow of traffic around Orlando Stadium and to ensure the safety of all road users.
The following routes will be affected:
N17, Soweto Highway, Klipspruit Valley Road, Martha Louw Street and Mooki Street.
Road closures will be implemented at 11h00.
Road closures will be implemented on:
Mooki Street between Nkom Ya Hlaba and Masopha Streets. Also, expect closures on Martha Louw Street between Klipspruit Valley Road and Mooki Street, at Adams and Rathebe Streets next to the YMCA and Adams and Nzama Streets.
The following alternative routes can be used in the affected areas:
From Mooki Street, motorists can use Ballende and Masopha Street. Motorists can also use the Soweto Highway and Klipspruit Valley Road.
Parking for spectators will be at an open space by the corner of Martha Louw Street and Klipspruit Valley Road, Shomane High School, AB Quma Primary School (Scott Street), Lofentse Girls High School (Mooki Street), Zithathele Primary School (Mooki Street), Leratong Primary School, Orlando High School, Selelekela High School (Mooki Street), Lereche Primary School Adams Street), Orlando Rugby Field (Adams Street), and Orlando Court (Mooki Street). VIP’s, Media, and VOC members’ parking will be inside Orlando Stadium.
Residents and members of the public are urged to exercise patience for the duration of the match as we expect traffic disruptions in the area.
Gates will open at 12h00, and the kick-off will be at 15h00, so we are appealing for spectators to arrive early to avoid congestion before the match.
We are further appealing to road users to acquaint themselves with the traffic management for the day so they can plan their routes accordingly.
