The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) conducted road safety operations in the Cullinan and Soshanguve precinct, as well as on the major highways at N1 and N4 over the weekend.
During the operations, 12 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Furthermore, TMPD in Mamelodi arrested 16 pedestrians for a source of danger by being on the highway, as it is prohibited for pedestrians to be on highways.
These operations are crucial measures by the department to reduce road fatalities and ensure the safety of all road users in the City of Tshwane.
