MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Mxolisi Kaunda, will tomorrow, 22 October 2018 officiate the opening of two major roads; P373 and P230 in uMsinga.
Main Road P373 is located between Jolwayo to Ntababomvu, in the uMzinyathi District, in the Ladysmith region. The project entails the upgrading of 22.2 kilometres to blacktop standards at an estimated total project cost of R135 million. The completed road will have 2 lanes and an overall surface width of 7 metres.
Main Road P280 is located between Jolwayo and Tugela Ferry under uMsinga Local Municipality in Ward 6 and Ward 5. This 16km section of road (km 33 to km 49) provides a necessary link between P373 intersection and P6-3 at Tugela Ferry and access to the Msinga community under Inkosi Mthembu. These project will cost a total of R250 million and has created job opportunities for local community members.
