MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr. Mxolisi Kaunda will tomorrow (18 November 2018) officially unveil a state-of-the-art bus facility, constructed by the Umlalazi Bus Services who are the beneficiaries of the Department’s bus subsidy programme.
This event is part of the October Transport Month activities to showcase transport facilities and infrastructure in the province.
In line with its Radical Socio-Economic Transformation Programme, the department awarded a contract for subsidized bus service to local operators, which include taxi owners from three taxi associations in the municipality.
The R3.5 million facility, which will be unveiled by the MEC tomorrow ,boasts a bus depot and a mechanics section. The facility has also created a number job opportunities for locals.
