Our endeavour to root out the illegal possession of firearms and drugs in our communities led to the arrest of a 47-year-male this morning at about 11:15 in Aiden Street Athlone, Western Cape.
The suspect and the premises were searched and 1.070kg tik, 238 mandrax tablets and rounds of ammunition and magazines were found on the premises.
In an unrelated matter Mitchells Plain police members were busy with patrols early morning on Friday, 18 February 2022, near to Norma Street when the heard the sound of gunshots. The members responded and saw a man running in their direction, upon which they stopped and searched the suspicious man and confiscated a 9mm firearm and ammunition.
