Intelligence-driven operations were conducted by SAPS members attached to the #AntiGangUnit Combat Team in the Mitchell’s Plain, policing precinct between Saturday, 12 November 2022 and Sunday, 13 November 2022. A number of premises were visited and searched and members seized firearms and ammunition.
suspects aged 31, 38and 41 were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and for possession of a prohibited firearm and illegal possession of ammunition. A tracing operation was conducted and the members proceeded to Ellis Park Crescent, Beacon Valley, where they arrested a 31-year-old man on charges of attempted murder.
All the suspects are due to appear in Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court to face their respective charges on Monday, 14 November 2022.
