A 35-year-old suspect, Itumeleng Frank Mokoka, has been arrested for dealing in and possession of illicit drugs following a joint intelligence-driven operation conducted by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit, Traffic Police, and the Waterberg Flying Squad Unit.
On Tuesday, 29 April 2025, at approximately 16:00, members of the Provincial Organised Crime received information regarding a suspect transporting drugs from Gauteng to Limpopo in a blue BMW with Gauteng registration plates. A coordinated operation was launched, and members positioned themselves at Kranskop Tollgate to intercept the vehicle.
At around 21:00, the targeted vehicle was spotted and pulled over. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered heroin drugs concealed in transparent plastic packaging with the estimated street value of R100, 000.00.
The suspect’s motor vehicle was also confiscated as part of the investigation.
The operation continued into the early hours of Wednesday, 30 April 2025, when the team proceeded to the suspect’s residence in Mamahule Park, Polokwane. A further search led to the discovery of additional drugs, including heroin, rock, and crystal meth, with an estimated street value of R30, 000.00.
The suspect appeared in the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 30 April 2025, and is scheduled to return on Friday, 02 May 2025, for a formal bail application. He is also expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on related charges stemming from the drugs recovered at his residence.
