The Westernburg detectives and Polokwane Visible Policing members conducted an intelligence driven operation at an identified address in Westernburg policing precinct wherein three (03) foreign nationals were found and arrested in possession of suspected stolen property including solar inverter, solar battery, various types of cellphones and laptops. During preliminary investigation, it was established that the items were linked to the attempted murder and house robbery in Sebayeng outside Mankweng in which one victim was shot and injured during the commission of crime. However, case of possession of stolen goods was opened in Westernburg SAPS .
The operation continued which resulted in the arrest of one more suspect who also participated in the crime and recovery of silver Polo with Gauteng registration plates that belongs to one of the suspects. It was allegedly used during the commission of crime and one firearm with ammunition along with a spent cartridge were also recovered in the bushes not far from where the suspects are residing.
The suspects will soon appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court for possession of suspected stolen property and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. They will also appear in Mankweng for attempted murder and house robbery.
Police investigations are ongoing.
