September 12, 2025 – Alfa Romeo is the Sponsor of the second “Tutto Bene Hillclimb,” an evocative parade of collector’s cars that brings together enthusiasts from all over the world in a unique landscape. Taking place along the private road of the Strada Borromea – from Gignese, just above Stresa in Novara province, to the summit of Mottarone – the exciting event was held on Wednesday, September 10. Around 80 cars took part, both contemporary and classic: from the most representative icons of Italian motoring to simpler but significant models, united by the motto “only cool cars allowed.”
One of the most eagerly awaited attendees was Alfa Romeo, taking part with its historic 1967 Tipo 33/2 “Periscopica” and the modern Giulia Quadrifoglio, symbols of a timeless passion. Organized by the BorromeodeSilva design studio together with the U.S. creative agency Race Service, “Tutto Bene” suggests a new format of automotive meeting, dynamic but safe, with the ability to leverage the local area. No time trials or speed races: the spirit is encompassed in the slogan capsulated in the claim “slow down to go fast,” presenting the pleasure of driving as a conscious experience, immersed in the landscape and shared among enthusiasts.
The protagonist of the 2025 edition is one of the most iconic cars in Alfa Romeo history: the 1967 Tipo 33/2 “Periscopica,” known as “Fléron.” A legendary model that marked the brand’s official return to international racing: at its debut, it won the Fléron hillclimb with Teodoro Zeccoli at the wheel. Its extraordinary sporting journey began on March 12, 1967, and culminated in the Marche world titles in 1975 and 1977.
Considered the forerunner of the 33 Stradale, the Periscopica represents one of the most authentic masterpieces of Alfa Romeo tradition. Equipped with a 270-hp 2-liter V8 engine and a tubular frame in light alloy and magnesium with a total weight of just 580 kg, it is the epitome of Italian racing engineering. Over the years, it raced on the legendary roads of the Targa Florio and at Sebring and the Nürburgring, distinguishing itself for its agility and power.
The car is currently looked after by the Scuderia del Portello, founded in Arese in 1982 as an official Alfa Romeo team for historic races. The Scuderia preserves and races some of the brand’s most iconic cars, transforming them into a veritable “museum in motion” that features at prestigious events such as the Mille Miglia, Le Mans Classic and Goodwood Festival of Speed. Together with the Portello Factory, it provides outstanding restoration, logistics and technical support, to keep alive the racing tradition and timeless charm of Alfa Romeo around the world.
Finally, the exclusive event at Lake Maggiore will also feature a special Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, the model that set Hollywood’s screens alight in Michael Bay’s 2019 film 6 Underground, darting through the alleyways of Florence in its spectacular fluorescent green livery, in one of the most memorable action sequences of any movie in the last few years. Plus, with its beating heart – a twin-turbo V6 that delivers over 500 hp, this specific Giulia Quadrifoglio is not only an icon of Italian power and design but also the undisputed star of the parade, ready to enchant the public with its stage presence.
In short, Alfa Romeo combines at Mottarone the legend of the Tipo 33/2 “Periscopica” and the power of the Giulia Quadrifoglio into a single expression of the Biscione, a brand that can transform its history into timeless passion and emotion.
