What better place to put a new model through its paces than the picturesque coastline of KwaZulu-Natal? That’s exactly what happened earlier this month as Jetour hosted a fun-filled day of scenic driving, festival vibes and the official reveal of its refreshed Dashing and X70 Plus models.
Arriving early morning, invited motoring media, along with Jetour representatives, took the new Jetour Dashing and Jetour X70 Plus along a scenic route from Zimbali, along Durban’s coastline and into the rolling hills of the North Coast.
The group experienced the latest enhancements to both models for themselves with refreshment and scenic stops along the way including the Whale Bone Pier, Plato Umhlali and the Jetour Umhlanga dealership. The drive ended at the Manor House in Salt Rock, a venue that combines historic country estate charm with beautiful views of KwaZulu-Natal, an ideal venue for celebrating Jetour’s spirit of adventure.
The Manor House hosted the inaugural Jetour KZN Festival, where not even the cloudy weather could dampen the atmosphere. Hundreds of Jetour owners, prospective customers, dealers, brand enthusiasts and media came together for an afternoon celebrating adventure, community, local music and the official unveiling of the refreshed Dashing and X70 Plus.
An afternoon of live entertainment followed, featuring performances by Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels, one of South Africa’s most enduring and popular live bands, and local singer-songwriter and producer, Lee Cole.
At the official reveal of Jetour’s newly facelifted Dashing and X70 Plus, Jetour Product Manager, Rowen Naidoo, introduced the latest design, technology and performance enhancements across both models, before Vice President, Becks Chen, announced the official pricing and customer benefits.
Both models feature updated exterior styling, enhanced interior comfort, smarter technology and upgraded safety features.
Powered by a more responsive 125kW 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, these new models deliver improved performance and efficiency. Despite these upgrades, the refreshed Dashing and X70 Plus arrive with lower starting prices than their 2024 predecessors, with the Dashing now starting from R429 900 and the seven-seater X70 Plus priced from R444 900.
With family-friendly activities, food, competitions and an owner showcase, the Jetour KZN Festival was about far more than unveiling two refreshed models. The event brought together customers, dealers and media to celebrate the brand’s expanding presence in South Africa.
This event builds on the success of previous customer events, including the Jetour Festival held in May last year at Casalinga in Muldersdrift, which brought together over 3 000 owners, dealers and enthusiasts. Beyond these flagship festivals, Jetour continues to strengthen its relationship with customers through regular community events, scenic drives and owner gatherings across the country, reflecting the brand’s commitment to creating experiences that extend beyond the showroom.
