On Tuesday 22 July 2025, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) Officers, confiscated R20 0000 worth of cannabis and cannabis infused products in the Boksburg area.
Following on information received about a non-compliant cannabis shop that deals in cannabis, cannabis infused edible sweets and cookies. The officers proceeded to the shop on Trichardt Street and upon arrival, encountered a twenty-seven (27) year old white male suspect.
Officers requested the suspect to produce the SAHPRA licence under section 22c, and the suspect failed to produce the licence certificate, which made the shop to be non-compliant. The DEU Officers confiscated cannabis and cannabis infused products with an estimated street value of R20 000.
The law breaker facing the charges of possession and dealing with cannabis and cannabis infused products, was detained at Boksburg North police station and is expected to appear at the Boksburg Magistrate court soon.
