Police in Kaapmuiden arrested a 42 year old suspect for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle. The arrest took place today, 23 July 2025, at about 07:30 on N4 near toll plaza in Kaapmuiden.
The police were conducting a stop and search. They stopped a vehicle double cab Toyota 2,8 GD6 White in colour and do the routine check , the members circulate the vehicle, and it was confirmed to be stolen in Zamdela , Sasolburg
The driver was placed under arrest. The vehicle license disc and registration number didn’t correspond. The vehicle was impounded for further investigation.
During the interview, the suspect alledge that he was going to Malelane petrol station to drop the vehicle, then someone was waiting to take over in crossing the vehicle to Mozambique
The suspect will appear tomorrow, 24 July 2025, at Low’s Creek Periodical Court for the said charge.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has commended the members for the swift arrest, also expressed his concern about the growing number of stolen vehicle that crosses the border to neighbouring countries.
