DFW volunteer and EFAR responder Garine de Wet reported to the DFW control and emergency group regarding an accident between a motorbike and a vehicle, in which the motorbike caught alight and the driver was injured.
Garine DeWet send as requested by DFW protocol, the exact location and pictures and what she thought what was needed and then assisted with the patient.
Drakenstein Fire and Traffic took care of the situation, and the patient was transported by EMS Metro Ambulance Services.
Garine is one of the 45 EFAR ( Emergency First Aid Responders ) which were trained and equipped recently by the DFW Fire & Rescue NPC and EMS metro Ambulance Services Paarl, to assist the community as first responders.
The DFW radio control room ( 24/7) coordinates the reported efforts and responses for a flawless and timely reaction.
