WESTERN CAPE – Members attached to Operation Lockdown III arrested a 33-year-old male for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Monday, 12 January 2026, at 03:20
The members were busy conducting crime prevention duties in Elsies River, when they received information of a person in possession of a firearm at a premises in Fairview Court, The Range, Elsies River. They acted immediately on the intelligence received and proceeded to the address, where they arrested the suspect found to be in possession of a .38 Special revolver and ammunition.
He was detained at Elsies Rivier SAPS and will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates court, once charged.
