A total of seventeen (17) goats were stolen during two (2) separate incidents in the Rajakumaar Informal Settlement in Tongaat – KZN this week.
The owner of the livestock arrived at the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre yesterday (Friday, 19/06/2026) to report the incidents that occurred on Wednesday, 17/06/2026 and Thursday, 18/06/2026.
According to the owner, ten (10) goats were stolen from his property at approximately 14:00 on Wednesday. CCTV footage (posted) captured the suspects removing the animals from the premises.
A second incident was reported at approximately 15:00 on Thursday. During this incident, seven (7) additional goats were stolen. The video accompanying this post was captured during the second theft and allegedly shows the suspects wearing balaclavas in an apparent attempt to conceal their identities.
Information gathered indicates that a white Opel Corsa/Chevrolet Utility bakkie was allegedly used during the commission of the offences. A criminal case has since been registered.
Reaction Officers are attempting to identify and locate the suspects involved.
