Police in Bethulie apprehended a female and two males for possession of stolen copper cable at the R701 road just outside Bethulie.
Bethulie Detectives and Transnet Security were activated on Thursday evening after acting on an intelligence-driven operation.
The team conducted a waylay operation after receiving intelligence-driven information about the possible theft of copper cables. On Friday 24 March 2023 at about 04:00 police spotted a white Ford Ranger.
The said vehicle was observed and police managed to stop it. Upon searching it, police found that the bakkie was loaded with copper cable. The three occupants aged between 35 and 40 were apprehended for possession of stolen copper cable.
The trio is expected to appear before Bethulie Magistrate’s Court soon.
