The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Social Crime Prevention Unit Officers, conducted a road safety and crime awareness campaign at Birch Acres Mall.
The campaign aimed to educate all road users, including shoppers, drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, on safe and responsible behaviours to help prevent accidents. Key messages included avoiding drunk driving, wearing seatbelts or helmets, not using cellphones while driving, obeying speed limits, and maintaining roadworthy vehicles.
Officers also shared tips on recognising and reporting criminal activities. Pamphlets containing road safety information were distributed to the public throughout the event.
