Two Ctrack employees, en route to a meeting on the morning of 28 February, witnessed a man attacking a minor girl on the side of the road close to Firgrove, near Somerset West.
The victim managed to break loose from the attacker and ran away from him.
The Ctrack employees immediately pulled over and took the young girl into safety, who confirmed that the attacker stole her school bag, ripped her ear rings out and tried to rape her.
Ctrack contacted the local police who arrived shortly thereafter, and the then further assisted the young victim to contact her family.
The suspect was caught and apprehended shortly thereafter by the South African Police Services.
Various similar cases has been reported in recent months with the most noted the brutal rape and murder of a young woman in Bredasdorp earlier this year.
