A black Mamba measuring approximately 2.2 metres in length was captured on a property on Hurbans Road in Gandhi’s Hill – Tongaat yesterday.
At approximately 14:58 Reaction Unit South Africa received a call from the home owner requesting assistance to remove a large black snake from their property. Upon arrival Reaction Officers found the snake on a tree. It was identified as a Black Mamba.
Neville Wolmarans, a professional snake catcher from Ndlondlo Reptile Park was called out to the scene and upon arrival captured the highly venomous snake without incident (pictured).
The snake was removed from the property by Wolmarans and will be relocated to a more appropriate location.
