Limpopo: Police continue to produce victorious results against crime through joint intelligence-driven operations
The Police in Limpopo are still committed in the fight against all crimes in the Province.
Joint intelligence-led operations that are composed of various Police Units at all levels of command were up and running until this morning on 2018-02-19 targeting the crime infested areas in all Clusters. These operations have yielded excellent results.
These operations hit hard on criminals and have led to the arrest of seven hundred and forty three (743) suspects aged between 21 and 52 for various offences ranging from murder, rape, armed robbery, business robbery, burglary business, burglary residential, house robbery, possession of suspected stolen properties, possession of dagga, possession of unlicensed firearms to carjacking.
The operations were conducted through roadblocks, stop and searches, patrols, tracing of wanted suspects, raiding of illegal businesses including liquor outlets.
During these operations, the following were recovered:
* Clothing, cellphones, rifles and ammunition, eight (08) firearms, ammunition and magazines, bags, 07 x cars, Laptops , packets and sachets of dagga, dagga trees, cables and a motor bike as well as 02 × water pumps and drugs.
All the arrested suspects have already started appearing in the various Magistrates’ Courts throughout the Province.
The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba praised all members of the South African Police Service who were involved in these operations and for their sterling efforts which have led to the apprehension of these perpetrators.
