Simbarashe Petukai is being sought for questioning in regards to the theft of a trailer loaded with a 20-foot container containing bags of copper.
Petukai left his company in Bayhead, Durban, and was expected to deliver the container with serial number GLDU 514 4526 (picture 3) at the harbor however he hitched the trailer to another truck and disappeared with the load. The registration on the trailer is ND 548 032.
The copper is valued at approximately R600 000 and was expected to be exported. Petukai is a 32-year-old Zimbabwean national who was employed by his company for six months. He is believed to be linked to a syndicate that targets shipping containers carrying high valued goods.
